Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Ivano-Frankivsk


The Archparchy of Ivano-Frankivsk is an Archeparchy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church sui iuris in Ukraine. It depends on the Roman Congregation for the Oriental Churches.
Its archiepiscopal cathedral see is the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Our Saviour, in Ivano-Frankivsk, in the province Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, which also has a secularized World Heritage Site: Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit, in Rohatyn.
Volodymyr Viytyshyn was confirmed as eparch by Pope Benedict XVI on 2 June 2005.

As per 2014, it pastorally served 591,157 Catholics on 6,700 km² in 390 parishes and 55 missions with 457 priests, 173 lay religious and 90 seminarians.
