Salt Lake Lions


The Salt Lake Lions were a professional Ultimate Disc team in the Western Conference of the American Ultimate Disc League. The team was purchased on August 15, 2012 by Jonathan Orlofsky. The first Lions' games were scheduled for April 2014.
Originally, the AUDL had no plan to add a team in Utah due to their belief that there was low interest in Ultimate Disc for the area. Knowing that the AUDL wanted to have a Colorado team, Orlofsky proposed they add Salt Lake City as a venue in order to be able to include Denver. After careful review, the AUDL accepted the proposal in April 2012.
The first Salt Lake Lions' tryouts were held October 5 and 12, 2013.
After announcing a hiatus for the entire 2015 season, the rights to the team were purchased by the AUDL. The team was officially disbanded in 2016.
The team had the following staff during the 2014 season:
