Philip Robinson (RAF officer)


Philip Jeremy Robinson, is a British pilot and decorated Royal Air Force officer. From October 2015 to October 2017, he was the Commanding Officer of RAF Odiham. Having flown Chinooks, he has been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross three times for service during the War in Afghanistan and the Iraq War. As of April 2019, he is the Assistant Chief of Staff at the Permanent Joint Headquarters.

Honours

On 29 October 2002, Robinson was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross "in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in Afghanistan during the period 1st October 2001 to 31st March 2002". On 31 October 2003, he was awarded a Bar to his DFC "for gallant and distinguished services in Iraq during the period 19th March to 19th April 2003". On 25 July 2008, he was awarded a second Bar to his DFC "in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in Afghanistan during the period 1st October 2007 to 31st March 2008". In the 2013 Queen's Birthday Honours, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire.
