No Entry


No Entry is an 2005 Indian Hindi-language comedy film written and directed by Anees Bazmee. It is produced by Boney Kapoor, and stars an ensemble cast of Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutta, Esha Deol and Celina Jaitly, while Sameera Reddy makes a cameo appearance. The soundtrack of the film is composed by Anu Malik. The film was released worldwide on 26 August 2005. Made on a production budget of, it went on to become the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2005, earning over worldwide. It is an official remake of the 2002 Tamil film Charlie Chaplin. This film is remade in Bengali as Kelor Kirti in 2016 starring Dev Adhikari, Ankush Hazra and Jisshu Sengupta. Dev was in place of Salman Khan, Ankush in place of Fardeen Khan and Jisshu in place of Anil Kapoor.

Plot

Kishen, a wealthy newspaper editor, has a suspicious-minded wife, Kaajal, who thinks he is always having an affair with another woman, even though he is extremely faithful to her and wouldn't dream of betraying her in any way. Prem, Kishen's friend who is also a wealthy businessman, has the opposite situation. He is married to Pooja, who is very trusting, even though he has been having several affairs with numerous gorgeous women. There is Kishen's employee Shekhar, whom Kishen treats as his younger brother, who accidentally falls in love with Sanjana. Sanjana hates lies and doesn't tolerate other woman in a man's life. Then Bobby, a call girl, enters the story. When Kishen takes pictures of Prem and his girlfriend, and threatens to send them to his wife, Prem hires Bobby to seduce Kishen. The plan is that Kishen will fall in Prem's trap, and Prem wants to see if Kishen can hide the relationship from his wife. Kishen plans to meet Bobby at his home while his wife has gone to Ajmer. Though she forgetting her passport at home,returns,only to find Bobby with Kishen in their out-house, which they had given Shekhar to live in. Then the lies start happening, as Kishen to hide his mistake from Kaajal tells her that Bobby is Shekhar's wife, and Sanjana, whose marriage is being fixed with Shekhar, thinks Bobby is Kishen's wife. Prem in order to save his friends' marriages tells Sanjana and Kaajal that Bobby is his second wife. It becomes a bundle of confusion, arguments and comedy when all the various couples meet together. The truth is eventually told through many comedic encounters, and eventually the three friends seemingly turn over a new leaf. It is hinted at the end of the movie, however, that the three friends have not completely turned over a new leaf with the entrance of Sameera Reddy in a cameo.

Cast

Development

During the production of No Entry, speculations arose that it would be a remake of the film Masti. The comparisons were made due to both films revolving around the same subject of extra-marital affairs. However, producer Boney Kapoor strongly denied the similarities and clarified that No Entry would be a remake of the Tamil movie titled Charlie Chaplin. Kapoor also stressed that he would never endorse innuendo-based films such as Masti.

Reception

Box office

The film gained a lot of popularity and was the biggest blockbuster of 2005. It was a big success, grossing 97.64 crore worldwide. The film topped the Chennai box office on its opening weekend.

No Entry Pudhe Dhoka Aahey is the Marathi remake of No Entry, released on 7 September 2012. It is directed by Ankush Chodhary, who is also one of the lead actors in the movie. The star cast of the movie are Sai Tamhankar, Ankush Choudhary, Bharat Jadhav, Aniket Vishwasrao, Kranti Redkar, Manva Naik.
A Bengali remake, titled Kelor Kirti, directed by Raja Chanda, was released in 2016. The movie star castes are Dev, Jisshu Sengupta, Ankush Hazra, Mimi Chakraborty, Nusrat Jahan, Sayantika Banerjee,
