Mike Ellis (Canadian politician)


Michael George Ellis is a Canadian politician who was elected in the 2019 Alberta general election to represent the electoral district of Calgary-West in the 30th Alberta Legislature. He was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in a by-election on October 27, 2014 during the 29th Alberta Legislature. He is a member of the United Conservative Party.
He had previously challenged his predecessor, Ken Hughes, in a nomination contest in the same district for the 2012 Alberta general election,
Prior to election, Ellis was a police sergeant with the Calgary Police Service. Born and raised in Calgary, he is married with three children.
