Michel Glotz
Michel Glotz was a French classical music record producer and impresario.
Life
Glotz was a student of Marguerite Long and accomplice of Francis Poulenc with whom he had a long correspondence. In this capacity, he obtained several Grammy Awards in Hollywood including Beethoven's nine symphonies by Herbert von Karajan with the Berlin Philharmonic in 1978, or the "most beautiful opera of the year" award for Bizet's Carmen in 1984. In 1966, he and his collaborator Thérèse Darras founded a concert agency called Musicaglotz. He then turned his attention to the careers of legendary artists such as Maria Callas, Herbert von Karajan, Alain Lombard, Alexis Weissenberg.
