Iat

Iat is an ancient Egyptian minor goddess of milk and, by association, of nurturing and childbirth.

Etymology

The name of the goddess resembles iatet which is the Egyptian word for "milk". What little we know of the goddess is based upon what is found in the Pyramid Texts such as where a king declares, "My foster-mother is Iat, and it is she who nourishes me, it is indeed she who bore me".
