Mumbai CST–Howrah Duronto Express


Mumbai CSMT-Howrah AC Duronto Express is a Duronto Express train of plying in Mumbai-Howrah route via Nagpur.

Background

Being non-stop version of Rajdhani train, it takes least number of intermediate halts for technical purposes like crew change, loco change and also other reasons such as food pick-up, water-filling, etc.

Rake sharing

It shares rakes with Pune Howrah Duronto Express, which has same timetable or run between Manmad Junction and Howrah Junction.

Locomotive

It mostly gets WAP 4 loco of Howrah shed from Howrah Junction to Mumbai CSMT. Sometimes, it can also be seen with WAP 4 of Santragachi shed. Recently, Mumbai's lines conversion to AC has brought Howrah WAP 4 to and fro from and to Mumbai CSMT.
Before the conversion of Mumbai CSMT to Kasara from 1500 V DC to 25000 V AC, it was hauled by WCAM-3 of KYN shed for that section.

12261 takes 2 technical halts at Kasara, Igatpuri, It takes about 7 mins at Kasara for addition of banker engine WAG 7 for the run through the ghats, Igatpuri of about 15 to 20 mins for the removal of bankers.
