Gushikawa Chōei

Gushikawa Wōji Chōei, also known by Kume Gushikawa Wōji Chōei and his Chinese style name Shō Kyō, was a Ryukyuan prince who served as sessei, a post often translated as "prime minister", from 1654 to 1666.
Shō Kyō was the seventh son of Shō Kyū and Shuriōkimi Aji-ganashi. He was also a half-brother of King Shō Hō. After Shō Shitsu succeeded the throne, Shō Kyō led a mission Edo in 1649.
Prince Gushikawa was also the author of Ishinagu, a Ryūka which was the de facto national anthem of the Ryukyu Kingdom. Some scholars have thought it was very similar to Kimigayo'', the national anthem of Japan.
