Farm to Market Road 1044 is a farm-to-market road in Comal and Guadalupe counties, Texas.

Route description

FM 1044 begins in central New Braunfels, at an intersection with the northbound frontage road of IH 35 at Exit #185. While it is generally north–south in direction, it is signed as an east–west route. The route's eastern terminus is at FM 78 east of Marion.

History

The original FM 1044 existed in Knox County. The original FM 1044 was designated on November 23, 1948, from US 82 1.5 miles west of the Knox-Baylor County Line southward 3 miles. On December 17, 1952, FM 1044 extended south 1.9 miles. On October 28, 1953, FM 1044 was cancelled and mileage was transferred to FM 266.
The current FM 1044 designation was established on October 28, 1953, connecting US 81 to FM 78.
