Dhanya Balakrishna


Dhanya Balakrishna is an Indian actress who has appeared mostly in Tamil and Telugu films along with Kannada and Malayalam films. After making her debut in A. R. Murugadoss's 7am Arivu, she appeared in ventures including Gautham Menon's Neethaane En Ponvasantham, Atlee's Raja Rani and Srikanth Addala's Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu. Dhanya made her debut as female lead in Telugu with Chinni Chinni Aasa. She is credited as Dhanya Balakrishnan in the Tamil film industry.

Career

Balakrishna began her acting career with performances in theatre, before playing a supporting role in A. R. Murugadoss's 7aum Arivu alongside Suriya and Shruti Haasan. She was next seen in two bilingual projects, portraying supporting roles - Balaji Mohan's Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi and then Gautham Menon's Neethaane En Ponvasantham.
Dhanya, portrayed supporting role in the 2013 Telugu film Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu as a girl who proposes to the character played by Mahesh Babu; while in Raja Rani, she was seen as Nivetha, a friend of Nayantara's character. Her first leading role was in the Telugu film Chinni Chinni Aasa, released in November 2013, while other projects, Amrutham Chandamamalo and Second Hand, were released thereafter.

Dhanya Balakrishna was born on August 6, 1991 in Bangalore, Karnataka. She was educated at MES.
Dhanya Balakrishna came into light after hosting SIIMA Awards along with actors Mirchi Siva and Sathish consequently two events of SIIMA Awards 2016 & 2017
