Darrah, California


Darrah is an unincorporated community in Mariposa County, California. It is located on the southeast slope of Buckingham Mountain, on the east bank of Snow Creek, 8 miles northeast of Mariposa, and south-southwest of El Portal, at an elevation of 3123 feet.
The Darrah post office operated from 1880 to 1907, with a closure from 1889 to 1890. The name honors Richard Darrah, its first postmaster.
