Braze, Inc


Braze, Inc. is an American cloud-based software company based in New York City, with additional offices in San Francisco, London, and Singapore. It develops customer relationship management and mobile marketing automation software that businesses use to manage their mobile applications. The company was originally named Appboy Inc. upon its inception, but it was rebranded in November 2017, as Braze, Inc.
According to the interview the company executives gave to Fortune, Braze provides mobile marketing automation for Domino's Pizza, SoundCloud and Urban Outfitters. Braze stated to Fortune magazine in June 2016 that its software processes approximately 2 billion messages per month between 420 million users.

History

Braze was founded as Appboy in 2011 by Mark Ghermezian of the Ghermezian family who raised $3 million from family and other investors in order to start the company. That same year, Bill Magnuson and Jon Hyman joined the company as co-founders.
As of January 1, 2017, Mark Ghermezian has transitioned from CEO to Executive Chairman, Bill Magnuson transitioned from CTO to CEO, and Jon Hyman transitioned from CIO to CTO.
Braze's last round of funding, in October 2018, brought the total amount of venture capital invested in the company to 175 million.
