Athens Airport–Patras railway


The railway from Athens Airport to Patras is a double track standard-gauge railway line in Greece that, when completed, will connect the International Airport of Athens with Patras in Western Greece, via the northern suburbs of Athens and Corinth. It is one of the largest railway projects of the last 30 years in Greece. The completion of the line it is a long-awaited transport infrastructure for the whole region of the north Peloponnese and the city of Patras., the line is completed until Rododafni, near the city of Aigio. In the future it will be completed all the way to Patras. A 6.5 km tunnel is planned for the final section from Rio to Patras.

As part of the P.A.Th.E./P. project, the Athens Airport-Patras line is being extended to eventually reach Patras. After the Kiato-Aigio has been electrified, direct services from Athens to Aigio will be possible.
