Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The National Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the title of the former national anthem of Kazakhstan used from 1992 to early 2006. Upon independence in December 1991, the melody of the Kazakh SSR anthemcomposed by Mukan Tulebayev, Yevgeny Brusilovsky and Latif Khamidi – was retained; and new lyrics were adopted in 1992 after a lengthy competition. The lyrics were written jointly by four people including poet Zhadyra Daribayeva, one of only a handful of women to have ever been involved in writing a national anthem.
On 7 January 2006, it was replaced by "Meniń Qazaqstanym".
