Adam Shaheen


Adam Shaheen is a British-Canadian artist, television producer and screenwriter. He is the founder and owner of Cuppa Coffee Studios where he developed and produced all original programming. He was also the executive producer of Cuppa Coffee's award-winning broadcast design and commercial studio.
The studio has won awards for its film and title work - namely Jane the Virgin, Sesame Street, Much Music, MTV, Nickelodeon, Noggin, Comedy Central. David Cronenbergs'
Existenz, Cosmospolis, Spider, Eastern Promises and A Dangerous Method and Maps to the Stars.
Shaheen's credits include shows and movies like JoJo's Circus, Celebrity Deathmatch, Starveillance, Bruno, Bruno and the Banana Bunch, Tigga and Togga, Little People, The Wrong Coast, Henry's World Season 1, Rick and Steve, Season 1 and 2, Crashbox, Season 1 and 2, A Very Barry Christmas, Starveilance, Nerdland, A Miser Brothers' Christmas and Life's a Zoo, Glenn Martin DDS, Seasons 1 and 2, Ugly Americans, Seasons 1 and 2. Shaheen is also a published author and record producer.
Shaheen has produced over 400 commercials and won over 150 International awards - including 3 Gemini's/Canadian Screen Awards for his contribution to Canadian Animation and also the Prix Jeunesse, the prestigious international award given at Annecy. Shaheen is widely considered the single most awarded executive in the field of animation.
Shaheen has worked with Nickelodeon, Disney, Cartoon Network, Sesame Workshop, HBO, Teletoon, ABC Family, Warner Bros., MTV, Much Music, CBC, Comedy Central, Foxtel, E!, TV Ontario, David Cronenberg, ESPN, and with over 40 different Advertising Agencies worldwide.
In September 2017, Cuppa Coffee, celebrated its 25th Anniversary with Shaheen announcing "I've achieved all I've ever wanted to achieve creatively in animation and now it's time to put running a studio, to bed!" In a British interview, Shaheen cited being "less than motivated to move mountains for an industry that is now morally and creatively bankrupt" as the main reason for departing animation.
Shaheen has now turned his attentions to his original loves, painting, landscape design and restoring old commercial buildings in London, Toronto and Los Angeles. He is currently co writing a feature film and producing a book on WW1. He owns the Red Ladder Gallery in Malibu, California focussing on the work of Eamon Harrington. He opened Cuppa Coffee USA based in Los Angeles in 2018 to focus on live action drama development.
