Zheng Yunlong


Zheng Yunlong is a Chinese musical theatre actor and singer.

Biography

Zheng was born in Qingdao, Shandong and graduated from Beijing Dance Academy.
Zheng's enthusiasm with stage performance comes from his mother, who is a Beijing Opera actress. He was inspired by the musical Cats, and therefore decided to pursue a career in musical theater. He joined the Beijing Songlei Theatre Ensemble after graduation. His notable stage roles include the Chinese adaptations of Jekyll/Hyde in Jekyll & Hyde , Quixote/Cervantes in Man of La Mancha, Stacee in Rock of Ages , and Michael in Murder Ballad. Zheng has earned the title of "Prince of Musicals".
In August 2018, he won the Chinese Musical Academy Award for Best Male Actor. In November the same year, he participated in the singing competition reality show :zh:聲入人心|Super-Vocal and became one of the six final winners. He also appeared in the singing contest show Singer 2019 as a member of the Super-Vocal finalist group alongside Ayanga, Cai Chengyu and Ju Hongchuan. Zheng is often seen performing as a duo with fellow musical actor and Super Vocal contestant Ayanga; the two have been friends since university and are collectively known as "Double Yun".
In March 2019, Zheng was recruited by Disney to sing the Mandarin version of the theme song "Baby Mine" for the fantasy adventure film Dumbo. In August, Zheng acted in a stage play for the first time, playing the lead role in The Poetic Age. Forbes China listed Zheng under their 30 Under 30 Asia 2019 list which consisted of 30 influential people under 30 years old who have had a substantial effect in their fields.
In 2020, Zheng appeared in CCTV New Year's Gala for the first time, performing a song item "Dear China" alongside Ayanga and veteran artists.
