Zainudin Nordin
Zainudin Nordin is a former Singaporean politician. A member of the governing People's Action Party, he was a Member of Parliament representing the Bishan–Toa Payoh Group Representation Constituency.
Zainudin represented Bishan–Toa Payoh GRC from 2001 to 2015. He was the Mayor of the Central Community Development Council from 2006 to 2011, and was the president of the Football Association of Singapore from 2009 to 2016. After stepping down from FAS, he was appointed by ITE College East as a deputy principal for development.Notably, Zainudin never served National Service in Singapore, unlike most able-bodied males of his generation, as revealed by himself in a parliamentary speech during the Budget 2013 Committee of Supply. He was exempt from National Service, as the National Service policy excludes some Malays.Criminal Probes
On 25 April 2017, Zainudin was arrested alongside three other individuals in connection with a probe by the Commercial Affairs Department into a suspected misuse of funds at Tiong Bahru FC. He is currently released on bail.Awards
