Zach Banks


Zachary Banks is a Latin American racing driver currently in the NASCAR recruitment pipeline for the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, and a college student. He won the 2016 Florida Karting Championship Series at Homestead-Miami Speedway in TAG Senior and the 2016 Florida Senior State championship in ROK Senior. Banks followed up his championships with another championship in the Monticello Racing Series, winning 17 races in 2019. Banks has recorded 80 career race wins.

Personal life

Banks graduated from Coral Gables Senior High in the summer of 2016. He is the youngest of 3 siblings, of Cuban, Lebanese, and Irish descent.Banks
speaks Spanish, English, and Italian. Banks is currently at Florida State University, in Management Information Systems, and attended FSU's prestigious Florencian Academy in Italy, in the summer of 2017. Banks worked as color commentator for Rickert Broadcasting in 2017, calling races and pre-race events around the southeastern United States.

Career

2012-2014

Banks competed in his first karting race in October 2012. He recorded his first win in October 2013 at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Junior TAG. His first regional championship came in early 2014 after signing with International Racing, shortly after turning 16. Banks has added 4 more titles since then.

2015-present

Banks' karting career progressed to the international stage with top-10 showings in both the Cold Stone Formula Winter Tour and the United States ROK National Championship in 2015 and 2016. Banks began testing Corvette Z06 sports cars in April 2017 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
In 2017, Banks' season began with first place results in final practice and qualifying at the opening race of the 2016 OGP Winter Series. Banks followed up his pre-race performances with victories in both the pre-final and final events.
In August 2019, Banks became an officially licensed Sports Car Club of America and International Motor Sports Association Le Mans car driver, at Daytona International Speedway.
