Yuvileiny Stadium


Stadion Yuvileiny is a football-only stadium located at 9 Gagarin street, Sumy, Ukraine 40030. The stadium was built in 1999-2001 in place of previously demolished Spartak Stadium in 1989.
Stadion Yuvileiny is currently used mostly for football matches of the Ukrainian First League, and is a home ground of the former FC Spartak Sumy and the new PFC Sumy. Until 2014, along with Shakhtar Stadium in Donetsk it was the major stadium in the First League.
The ownership of the stadium currently belongs to the city authorities after the partnership owning Spartak went into bankruptcy. The stadium holds 25,830 people and comprises an area of.

History

The stadium broke ground in late 1999 and in two years was opened. Originally it was constructed for the Spartak Sumy that at that time competed in the Ukrainian First League with the perspective for the club advancing to the national premiers.
