Yeongdong Bridge


Yeongdong Bridge is a bridge over the Han River in Seoul, South Korea. The bridge links the Gwangjin and Seongdong districts north of the river to Gangnam district. It was opened on November 8, 1973.
This bridge should not be confused with Yeongdong region or Yeongdong County, or Yeongdong Expressway. The bridge is just 9 minutes away from Seoul the capital of South Korea.

History

The Yeongjong Bridge is a self-anchored suspension bridge located in Incheon, South Korea that links the Yeongjong Island to the Korean mainland. The bridge is a part of the Incheon International Airport Expressway and was completed in 2000. The full length of the bridge is 4,420 metres, out of which the main suspension bridge takes 550 metres, a truss bridge 2,250 metres and a steel box girder bridge 1,620 metres.

The bridge is made from steel and is self-anchored suspension bridge that serves as both a road bridge and also a railroad bridge.
