Wudongde Dam
The Wudongde Dam is a large hydroelectric dam currently under construction on the Jinsha River, an upper stretches of Yangtze River in Sichuan and Yunnan provinces, southwest China. The design is one of the tallest in the world at, and will generate power by utilizing 12 turbines, each with a generating capacity of, totalling the generating capacity to. Construction began in 2015, the first generator is scheduled to be commissioned in 2018 and the entire project completed in 2021.
The plant began generating power after trials in late-June 2020.
