Wonder World Tour (Wonder Girls)

Wonder World Tour is the third concert tour by South Korean girl group Wonder Girls. The concert tour kicked off in Seoul, South Korea. This would be the Wonder Girls’ 2nd solo concert in Korea since 2009.
The concert’s production & planning are done inconjunction with CJ E&M, leading Asian entertainment company, together with management company, JYP Entertainment.

History

The tour was announced by JYP Entertainment several days after the release of their mini-album Wonder Party. The tickets for the tour went on sale through Yes24 and Interpark‘s ticket booth on June 12 at 7PM KST.
After stepping away from the domestic market, in order to focus on the American activities, the girls wanted to return to Asian fans who supported and waited for their return with their solo tour. The girls clarified that they were not stepping back from their US activities and returning to Asia alone, after it was announced that they would debut in Japan in July.
When asked about their increased activities in Asia, the girls replied, “Because we had to learn English in the States, the amount of time we spent there grew longer and longer, which meant we didn’t have a lot of time to see our Asian fans. In an effort to show and share more of us, we mutually agreed to increase our activities. We rushed the release of our new song for our first Korean concert in four years on July 7th. Following that will be our Japanese promotions, the JYP Nation concert in August, our tour concert, and finally a new American album.”
The tour began with the first concert, entitled ‘Wonder World Tour in Seoul 2012‘, on July 7, 7PM KST at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium. ‘Wonder World‘ refers to the group’s second album, which was released in November 2011.
Parallel Smart Media Alpha Entertainment made an official announcement on 28 June via their Facebook page that they would be bringing the Wonder Girls to Singapore. The 'Wonder World Tour in Singapore 2012' was held at the Resorts World Sentosa Compass Ballroom on September 8, 2012.
For the Seoul concert, notable celebrity guests attended the girls concert, these included: Sunmi, who was on hiatus from the group at the time, 2NE1, and Girls' Generation Tiffany and Seohyun. The latter two were said to have rushed to attend the concert after emceeing MBC‘s live ‘Music Core‘. Others who attended the concert were Leessang, Tiger JK, Kan MiYeon, Min Hyorin, and fellow JYP Entertainment label mates miss A, 2PM, JOO, San E, and J.Y. Park.
