Will Lawing


Will Lawing, is an American football coach who is currently the tight ends coach for the Houston Texans. Lawing played college football for the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Early life

The son of a successful college coach, Brad Lawing, Will was a four-year member of the UNC football team and in 2008 received a bachelor's degree in exercise and sports science.

Coaching career

Early coaching career

Lawing spent four seasons with Juniata College as the program's offensive coordinator in 2011–2012, passing game coordinator in 2010 and tight ends coach in 2009. In addition to his coaching duties, Lawing was also Juniata's recruiting coordinator. He served as a graduate assistant at Penn State under Head Coach Bill O’Brien for the 2013 season.

Houston

Starting in 2014, Lawing spent three years as defensive quality control coach for head coach Bill O' Brien and the Houston Texans. He served as an offensive line assistant in 2017 and 2018. On February 5, 2019, Lawing was named the tight ends coach of the Houston Texans.
