Wiest, California


Wiest is an unincorporated community in Imperial County, California. It is located southeast of Calipatria, at an elevation of 135 feet below sea level.
A post office operated at Wiest from 1907 to 1910 and from 1914 to 1933. The name honors Daniel W. Wiest, an early settler.
The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment has issued a safe eating for any fish caught in Wiest Lake due to elevated selenium.
