White Lake State Park


White Lake State Park is a state park in Tamworth, New Hampshire. The park is situated along the shore of White Lake, a typical glacial lake. It is open year-round and offers swimming, hiking, non-motorized boating, camping, picnicking, trout fishing and winter sports. There are a day-use area, group areas, and a campground with family campsites as well as youth group sites. The tourist administration for the 204 rentable camping places of White Lake State Park is open from mid-May through Columbus Day in mid-October.
Being situated only a few hours driving time from urban areas like Concord, New Hampshire and Portland, Maine, as well as Boston and due to popularity it is quite crowded in the summer, especially at holiday times.
A stand of pitch pine trees has been designated a National Natural Landmark and is accessible by a walking trail.
