Wes Gordon


Wes Gordon is an American fashion designer. He was raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He interned with Oscar de la Renta and Tom Ford and after graduating from Central St. Martins in London in 2009, the same year launched his own self named line of women's wear. The powerhouse department stores Harrods and Saks Fifth Avenue instantaneously took on his offerings, and the next annum Bergdorf Goodman and Kirna Zabête hopped aboard. Katy Perry, January Jones, Lena Dunham and Gwyneth Paltrow, have all worn his designs.
In 2017 Gordon put his own signature label on hold and decided not to renew the lease on his Nassau Street store in Manhattan while taking on a consulting position with the Carolina Herrera label.

At Carolina Herrera

In 2018 Gordon took over from Carolina Herrera as creative director at the fashion label Carolina Herrera owned by Puig, At the 2019 Academy Awards actress and Oscar nominee that evening, Glenn Close wore a dress designed by Gordon for the Herrera label custom created by him for her and featuring more than three million glass bugle beads dyed gold and woven by more than forty Indian craftspeople in an opera house in Mumbai into silk organza. The garment weighs in at over forty pounds as the actress herself noted. Gordon said of the piece he made for Close..."She's the Queen of Hollywood and needed a gown fit for a queen".
