Weems, Virginia


Founded in 1886, Weems is an unincorporated community in Lancaster County in the U. S. state of Virginia. Weems shares the -438 Code With Irvington, Virginia.
Christ Church, physically located in Weems, was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1961. Corotoman was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970.
Aside from historical significance as described above, Weems remains a small, relatively underdeveloped community as it is mostly residential, but does operate waterside businesses and is a popular seaman's spot for berthing or entering the Chesapeake Bay. Its majority of residents are middle aged to retirement age
