Warta Zawiercie (volleyball)


Warta Zawiercie, officially known as KS Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie for sponsorship reasons is a Polish professional men's volleyball team based in Zawiercie, founded in 1972 and reactivated in 2011. The team has been playing in the top level Polish Volleyball LeaguePlusLiga since 2017.

Team history

The club was established in 1972 and dissolved in 1997. In 2011 the club was reactivated. In May 2017 Aluron Virtu Warta Zawiercie won playoffs against AZS Częstochowa for a place in PlusLiga. The club was promoted to the highest level of the Polish Volleyball League – PlusLiga on 7 May 2017. Warta Zawiercie achieved 4th place in the 2018/2019 PlusLiga season, the highest place in the club's history which allowed them to take part in 2019–20 CEV Challenge Cup.
