Walter Goodnow Everett


Walter Goodnow Everett was a professor of Latin, philosophy, and natural theology from 1890 to 1930 at Brown University. Everett House, a freshman hall on campus, was named after him. He was head of the philosophy department at Brown from 1896 to 1930, and also served as acting university president while President William H. P. Faunce made a trip around the world in 1912–13. His daughter Helen married Alexander Meiklejohn and collaborated with him on writing projects.
