Walls (EP)


Walls is the fifth overall release and fourth EP by the Brisbane band The Red Paintings. Released in Australia on 23 May 2005, it is considered their first major breakthrough, and was received with praise and favourable reviews.

Critical response

Walls was very well received by Sputnikmusic, and featured in their "Staff Picks" list. Staff reviewer Jom praised the band for producing "arguably the most remarkable EP of 2005" and summarised the album as a "phenomenal EP that defines The Red Paintings' stellar musicianship".
The Sydney Morning Heralds Bernard Zuel, described the EP as "psychedelia the way it's meant to be" and likened them to The Decemberists and the Arcade Fire.
