History

Background

From 2003 til 2016, the station was a sister station to the former Country-formatted station WAXO-AM-FM, and held the legal call letters of W34DB, from 2003 to 2012. The station’s digital signal held the call letters of W29DM-D from 2012 to 2019, but was identified on air as WAXO-TV.

As a hybrid independent/religious network station

The station signed on the air at some time in 2005. It served the Lewisburg, Tennessee area as an independent station. The station also served as a secondary affiliate of America One in the mid-morning hours, and as a secondary Gospel Broadcasting Network affiliate until 2015. Local programming and replays of the local high school sports were also seen on the station; at other times, the station aired a slideshow of local events with audio from then sister radio station WAXO playing in the background. The station was also streamed online via WAXO's website, until it was removed sometime in 2013.
In 2012, W34DB was shut down and replaced with W29DM-D, which taken over the former television duties as the former analog station. This was done in a form of a flash-cut transition from analog UHF channel 34 to digital UHF channel 29.

Silence and return to the air

The television station was taken off the air along with the former sister radio station in March 2016 due to the owners, Marshall County Radio Corporation, filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, However, an application was filed on November 2, 2018, to return the station to the air, and the station would be sold to the new owner, Maurice Bailey, the next year on July 8, 2019, and at the same time, the callsign changed to the current WFET-LD.
On November 29, 2019, WFET-LD returned to air with three subchannels, with 29.1 displaying classic tv shows, 29.2 displaying classic movies and 29.3 as a music channel playing Reel Country Music.
On Monday, July 13, 2020, WFET-LD changed its programming for all three channels, with channel 29.1 becoming Family Entertainment Television, channel 29.2 becoming Movies!, and channel 29.3 becoming Reelz.
