Visa policy of Tajikistan


Visitors to Tajikistan must obtain a visa from one of the Tajikistan diplomatic missions unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries or countries whose citizens are eligible for an electronic visa or a visa on arrival.

Visa exemption

Nationals of the following 10 nations are not required to obtain a visa for Tajikistan:

eVisa

Tajikistan launched an E-visa system on 1 June 2016. The E-visa can be used at any border crossing, and is granted for tourism and business. Along with an eVisa visitors may obtain a permit to visit the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region for US$20.
Holders of passports of the following 121 countries or territories can obtain a single or multiple entry e-Visa online for US$30 prior to arrival for a maximum stay of 60 days within 90 days:
Stateless persons who were citizens of Tajikistan can also obtain an eVisa.

Electronic visa application

Citizens of all countries may apply for a visa online. An approved visa can be received in a consular establishment of Tajikistan abroad or at the airport in Dushanbe.

Visa on arrival according to IATA

According to information provided by IATA, nationals of the following can obtain a visa on arrival at Dushanbe Airport for a maximum stay of 45 days: Algeria, Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Brunei, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, South Korea, Kuwait, Latvia, Lebanon, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Mongolia, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, United States, United Arab Emirates, Vatican, Venezuela, Vietnam and Yemen.

Gorno-Badakhshan

Special permits are required to visit the regions within the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province. OVIR permit required and another special permit is required for Lake Sarez.
