Vilcas Huamán Province
Vilcas Huamán is a province in the eastern part of the Ayacucho Region in Peru.Boundaries
One of the highest mountains of the province is Hatun Rumi at approximately. Other mountains are listed below:The province is divided into eight districts, each of which is headed by a mayor. The districts, with their capitals in parenthesis, are:
- Vilcas Huamán
- Accomarca
- Carhuanca
- Concepción
- Huambalpa
- Independencia
- Saurama
- Vischongo
The people in the province are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent. Quechua is the language which the majority of the population learnt to speak in childhood, 10.06% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language.Archaeology
Some of the most important archaeological sites in the province are Usnu, Inti Watana, Pilluchu, Pukara and Puntay Urqu.
