Vice Chairperson of the National People's Congress
The Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress is a political office in the People's Republic of China. According to the Constitution of the People's Republic of China, Vice-Chairpersons are responsible for assisting the Chairman in performing his duties as chair of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. Since 1982, Vice-Chairpersons are appointed for a term of five years, and cannot serve for more than two terms, similar with the “Deputy Speaker of the Chinese Parliament”.
