Valerio Fiori

Valerio Fiori is an Italian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper, and A.C. Milan coaching staff. He is currently a goalkeeping coach at Serie A club Milan.

Career

Fiori is currently retired from professional football and will pursue a career in law. He has made only two official appearances in eight seasons with the club: a 4–2 loss in Serie A to Piacenza Calcio, and a 1–0 Coppa Italia win over U.C. Sampdoria as a first-half injury replacement for Christian Abbiati. Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani stated that Fiori's lengthy stint at the club, despite his lack of playing time, was due to his professional conduct.
Before AC Milan, he played for Lodigiani, Lazio, Cagliari, Cesena, Fiorentina and Piacenza. It was because of his impressive performances with Piacenza that Milan decided to sign him, although at the time they already had Sebastiano Rossi and Christian Abbiati in their ranks. Though he made four appearances for Italy's Under-21 squad, Fiori was never called up for the senior side.
He was Milan's starting keeper in a 2–2 friendly draw with Dynamo Kiev on 6 September 2007, which marked his first full match with the Rossoneri since a 1–1 draw with Chelsea F.C. in a friendly on 1 August 2005.
Fiori was a goalkeeping coach at A.C. Milan, along with Marco Landucci, from 2008 until 2016. After that he followed Clarence Seedorf and joined Shenzhen.

Trivia

Fiori graduated with a bachelor's degree in law from University of Rome La Sapienza on 12 July 2007.
