Vadim Fedotov


Vadim Fedotov is a Russian media manager, chairman of the Digital Committee as well as the managing director of the digital entities at Gazprom Media Holding, eastern and central Europe's largest media holding. He is also the chairman of the board of directors of Ruform LLS, the leading online video service in Russia.

Early years

Born January 19, 1985 in Leningrad, in 1991 Vadim Fedotov moved to Germany with his family. He finished :de:Schloss Hagerhof|Schloss Hagerhof High School in Bad Honnef, moved to United States and acquired a BCs degree in international business and marketing from University at Buffalo.

Sports

Fedotov played basketball since the age of 6, and attended athletic school since the age of 16. In the early 2000th he played for local professional club Dragons Rhöndorf.. At the age of 18 he debuted in Germany national under-19 basketball team. He was a member of the national team from 2003 till 2005.
While studying in the University of Buffalo, Fedotov was a forward-center of the Buffalo Bulls men's basketball team and participated in the NCAA I division plays in seasons 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. In 2009 Fedotov was granted the Academic All-MAC honor as one of the best NCAA players. He stopped his career in professional sports due to injuries.

Corporate career

Fedotov underwent an internship in Delaware North and returned to Russia in 2009 as the head of procurement department at Barkawi Management Consultants GmbH & Co.KG. In November 2011 he started a job at Groupon Russia. He led the sales department and was promoted to CEO in August 2012. This appointment was featured in the list of 100 key appointments of 2012 by the Career magazine. Since March 2013 he was also a CEO of Groupon Ukraine.
Since 2015 Fedotov was the head of Gazprom Media Technologies, the company that managed the digital projects within Gazprom Media Holding. In 2016 Fedotov also became the chairman of Ruform, the company formed by merger of Rutube video hosting and Pladform video distribution platform. Since January 2018 Fedotov was the advisor of Gazprom Media Holding CEO and assisted him in management of digital actives. Fedotov was twice included in the ranking of young managers by Olders Bendston and Mediascope. He was rated A in 2016 and rated AAA in 2018.

Entrepreneurship

In June 2018 Fedotov and the founders of Lamoda invested $500,000 in construction materials marketplace GdeMaterial. In November 2018 he invested $200,000 in laboratory analysis service Go Lab. In 2019 Fedotov and Konstantin Karusin established a personalized medicine and biohacking startup Bioniq headquartered in London. In February 2020 Bioniq partnered with Russian clinic network Medsi to establish a joint venture Bioniq-Medsi with $500 mil of funding from Medsi. Fedotov became the CEO of the new company.
