United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2065

United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2065, adopted on December 16, 1965, recognized the existence of a sovereignty dispute between United Kingdom and Argentina over the Falkland Islands. Also recognized that the case of the Falklands is framed in a colonial situation, which should be solved taking into consideration those expressed in United Nations General Assembly Resolution 1514, where the goal of eliminating all forms of colonialism was established. The resolution invites the parties to find a peaceful solution to the problem bearing in mind the provisions of 1514 and taking into consideration the interests of the inhabitants of the islands.
