UNSW Faculty of Engineering


The Faculty of Engineering is a constituent body of the University of New South Wales, Australia. UNSW was formed on the 1st of July 1949, and the Faculty was established on the 8th of May 1950 with the inaugural meeting of the Faculty taking place on the 7th June, 1950. It was one of the first three University faculties which were established by Council, and was initially formed of four departments including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mining Engineering. Today, it is the largest engineering faculty in Australia, offering the widest range of engineering programmes.
