Troisfontaines

Geography

History

• Inhabited in prehistoric times and the Gallo-Roman period.
• A glassworks of 1699 was the origin of the town.
• Village completely destroyed during the Thirty Years' War.
• Vallérysthal, an important new glassworks founded in 1707.
• The church dates only from the early 20th century. Previously, Troisfontaines along with Hartzviller were part of the parish of Biberkirch where the church stood.
• 1999, Troisfontaines is hit by a storm. It destroyed a large part of the forests, especially the one on the edge of Vallérysthal.
• 2007, 80% of Troisfontaines is covered by DTT.

• Recreation area at the Vallérysthal pond: fishing, bowling, barbecue, picnic area, promenade);
• bike path approx. 12 km connecting to Troisfontaines à Sarrebourg;
• STRV, Trial Club Valley of the Bievre, a round of the World Championship trials is held in Troisfontaines.
