Tony Randerson
Anthony Penrose Randerson was appointed New Zealand Chief High Court Judge on 16 December 2004. He was subsequently appointed to the Court of Appeal of New Zealand with effect from 1 February 2010, and retired as the longest serving judge of that court in May 2017.
In 1990, he chaired a review group for Simon Upton that finalised the Resource Management Act 1991.
Justice Randerson, a University of Auckland graduate, was appointed a Queen’s Counsel in 1996 and appointed to the High Court in 1997. He has also sat from time to time in the Divisional Courts of the Court of Appeal of New Zealand.
His brother is Bishop Richard Randerson, former Dean of Holy Trinity Cathedral, Auckland.
