Tim Lees


Timothy Martin Lees is an English football player and football coach.

Club career

Lees was released from Everton and Bolton Wanderers academies as a youth player. His recorded semi-professional clubs include Stalybridge Celtic, Wingate & Finchley, AFC Hayes, and Radcliffe Borough.

Other career

Lees played for England semi professional Budweiser side at the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany, managed by Jamie Redknapp. He was refused a work permit to play for Portuguese Vitoria Setubal in 2006. Lees also finished second in the 2004 World Nike Freestyle Competition losing out convincingly to the Brazilian winner in Rio de Janeiro. He later appeared in the Channel 4 2006 TV series The Pepsi Max World Challenge, chosen from a pool of 17,000 UK entrants. The series had a $100,000 prize involving players including David Beckham, Ronaldinho and Thierry Henry. Lees has also performed and choreographed several football commercials and advertisements.

Coaching career

Lees was a Youth Coach at Watford academy and Wigan Athletic where he latterly worked under Roberto Martinez. In August 2014 he left Wigan Athletic and joined Liverpool football club. Lees became Academy Manager of professional North American club St Louis FC in 2015 overseeing the development and philosophy of all youth ages 7–23's.
