Tertiary Institutions Service Centre

Tertiary Institutions Service Centre is an incorporated administrative agency involved with the processing of applications for admission to undergraduate programmes for Western Australian state universities.

History

The agency was established in 1975 by the four public universities in Western Australia; Curtin University of Technology, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University and The University of Western Australia.
The role of TISC is to process university enrollment applications by assessing applicants and ranking eligible applicants in order of merit for each programme following the rules and criteria given by the individual universities. TISC does not approve who will be enrolled into a programme or university but coordinates the process as an intermediary between the applicant and the university. They also relay offers on behalf of participating universities to the applicants.
It is not a statutory or government body and is funded both by the participating universities and the processing fees charged to applicants.
