T Cooper


T Cooper is an American novelist, nonfiction writer, television writer, and journalist. He is the author of eight novels, including The Beaufort Diaries, Lipshitz Six, or Two Angry Blondes, and Some of the Parts. Cooper is also editor of the anthology A Fictional History of the United States with Huge Chunks Missing. His most recent books are the nonfiction Real Man Adventures, and the four-part Young Adult novel series entitled Changers, co-written with Allison Glock-Cooper. Cooper has also written for the television shows The Get Down, and Copper.

Biography

Cooper earned an undergraduate degree from Middlebury College and an MFA in fiction writing from Columbia University. He has twice been a fellow of the MacDowell Colony. He has attended Ledig House International and The Millay Colony, where he was The New York Times Foundation fellow for 2008. Cooper lives with his family in New York City and Atlanta.
Since the publication of Lipshitz Six in 2006, Cooper has received significant positive critical attention, including a positive review in The New York Times Book Review and being placed on both Time Out New York magazine's list of "25 New Yorkers to Keep an Eye On in 2006" and Out magazine's "100 Men and Women Who Rocked 2006" list. The novel was also chosen as a Best Book of 2006 by The Believer and The Austin Chronicle.
Cooper's shorter writing has appeared in a variety of publications, including The New Yorker, One Story, The New York Times, The New York Times Style Magazine, Esquire, The Guardian, The Believer, Poets & Writers, Electric Literature, O: The Oprah Magazine, The Brooklyn Review, Bomb, Portland Review, Document Journal, Columbia Journal, and several others.
