TV Patrol Northwestern Mindanao

TV Patrol Northwestern Mindanao, formerly TV Patrol Pagadian, was a local television counterpart of TV Patrol in Pagadian City and Zamboanga del Sur. The program was aired weekdays at around 5:00-6:00 PM live from the ABS-CBN Pagadian newscenter.

History

In 1995, TV Patrol Pagadian was launched. This is one of the two news programs of TV Patrol in the Zamboanga Peninsula region, together with TV Patrol Chavacano, formerly known as TV Patrol Zamboanga, which was focused on the entire Zamboanga City alone together with Sulu, Basilan and Tawi-Tawi. The program covered stories ranging from natural disasters, tragedies, political issues, controversies, and social issues that had made a mark in the history of Pagadian City and Zamboanga del Sur.
In 2008, TV Patrol Pagadian was renamed as TV Patrol Northwestern Mindanao as it expanded its reach to Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga Sibugay. It also began its simulcast on TV-42 Dipolog, an owned-and-operated station of ABS-CBN. A year later, however, the newscast was folded up due to a copyright violation its anchor-producer Leo Santillan. It was later replaced by Nuebe Patrol, an independent local news program produced by MIT-RTVN Inc., which was used to run from 2009 to 2014.
As of now, the areas of coverage respectively covered by TV Patrol Northwestern Mindanao and Nuebe Patrol for more than 20 years are currently covered by ABS-CBN TV-4 Cagayan de Oro's TV Patrol North Mindanao and ABS-CBN TV-3 Zamboanga's TV Patrol Chavacano.
