Synetinae

The Synetinae are a small subfamily within the leaf beetle family. They are found entirely within the Holarctic, mainly in North America but also appearing in parts of Europe and Asia.
Historically, the group was classified as a subfamily within either the Chrysomelidae or the Orsodacnidae. Recently some authors have treated them as a tribe of the subfamily Eumolpinae, where they are known as Synetini, but others have criticised this placement and prefer to keep them as a separate subfamily of leaf beetles.
