Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004


was represented by Piero Esteriore and Music Stars in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 with the song "Celebrate".

Before Eurovision

Eurosong 2004

Each of three language televisions in Switzerland each sent in four participants, making it a total of twelve participants participating in the national final.
The final was held at the TRS TV Studios in Geneva on 6 March 2004, hosted by Jean-Marc Richard. The winner was chosen by regional televoting in two rounds of voting - the first to select the top 6 and the second to select the winner.

At Eurovision

For the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, a semi-final round was introduced in order to accommodate the influx of nations that wanted to compete in the contest. Due to missing the 2003 contest, Switzerland had to compete in the semi-final of the 2004 Contest. The singer had a very subtle performance with simple choreography. They performed third, following Belarus and preceding the Latvia the song finished last with 0 points at the semi-final. Therefore, Switzerland had to compete in the semi-final again in ESC 2005.
