Susan Silvey, known professionally as Susie Silvey or sometimes Suzie Silvey, is an English actress, dancer and model, active in the 1970s and 1980s.
Early life
Educated at the Harrow School of Art, Silvey studied ballet for five years, jazz and tap dancing for three years, as well as operatic singing with Wyn Spruce, and Stanislavski's system at the Actors' Centre in London. She was a dancer for two years on Top of the Pops in the 1980s.
Career
Her television appearances include The Dick Emery Show, Terry and June, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Emery Presents:Legacy of Murder, Smiley's People, Jemima Shore Investigates, Never the Twain and The Odd Job Man. Silvey's other television work includes appearances on the Stanley Baxter Show, the Kenny Everett Show, the Dave Allen Show, The Professionals, The Kelly Monteith Show, Cannon and Ball, Sorry!, Little and Large, Cuffy, was a regular for two years on The Two Ronnies, was a dancer for two years on Top of the Pops, EastEnders, Harry Enfield's Television Programme, Alphonzo Bongo, The Les Dawson Show, The Chinese Detective, The Late, Late Breakfast Show, The Bill and Rumpole of the Bailey. She also appeared in the films Come Play with Me, The Playbirds, The Stud, The World Is Full of Married Men, Can I Come Too?, Sex with the Stars, Xtro, Fanny Hill, The Urge to Kill, Blue Ice, Shining Through and Splitting Heirs. She appeared in silhouette as a roller skater in the opening titles of Octopussy. Silvey also appeared in music videos for Paul McCartney, the Cure and the Joe Cocker video for 'Civilized Man', which won an award at the Cannes Film Festival. Today Silvey is on the Committee of the Celebrities Guild of Great Britain and is a member of the Heritage Foundation, both of which involve her in arranging celebrity guests for fund-raising charity events and blue plaque unveilings; in this capacity she was present at the unveiling of blue plaques to Jet Harris at the Kingswood Centre in London in April 2012; that located at the home of Robin Gibb, and that for Morecambe and Wise unveiled at Teddington Studios in May 2013. In August 2012 she appeared in an episode of Cash in the Attic with her daughter, student Sarah Silvey-Fine, who is an aspiring model. in the 1980s
