Susan Morton Blaustein


Susan Morton Blaustein is an American pianist and composer. She was born in Palo Alto, California, and studied piano and composition at Pomona College with Karl Kohn, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975. She continued her studies in composition at the Liege Conservatory in Belgium with Henri Pousseur and at Yale with Jacob Druckman and Betsy Jolas. After completing her education, she took a position as assistant professor at Columbia University. She was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1987.
