Subodh Karnik
Subodh Karnik was the President and Chief Executive Officer of now defunct ATA Airlines. Separately, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Aero Logistics, Inc. On January 1, 2007, Karnik replaced the previous CEO, John G. Denison, who stepped down but is continuing on as ATA's Chairman of the Board of Directors. Subodh Karnik has been an officer of Global Aero Logistics, Inc. since June 2, 2005. In March, 2008, Karnik abruptly stepped down as CEO of Global Aero Logistics. No public reason was given, but Global Aero Logistics financial decision to buy Northwest Airlines McDonnell Douglas DC10's and the resultant economic and maintenance issues of placing and integrating them with ATA and World Airways fleets were rumored to be the cause.
Before working at ATA, Karnik's most prominent position was as a marketing executive at Delta Air Lines. A native of Mumbai, India, Karnik graduated from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science and the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
On December 21, 2018, it was announced that Karnik would become Chief Executive Officer of ExpressJet in January 2019.
